The PMDG 737 NGX

Welcome to the simulator that changed the way the game is played……….. The PMDG 737 NGX.

I have been flying the Boeing 737 in Microsoft for about nine years. The first was the Dreamfleet 737 (which broke the mold at the time). Then moving on to the 737 PIC! And then to the PMDG 737.

This aircraft is simply amazing and very technical so its best to look at it in bite size chunks. Whether you want to build a home cockpit or not! The PMDG 737 is immersive on its own. You can pretty much do what ever the real plane will do because the level of detail is so accurate. What struck me most is the level of detail in the virtual cockpit or VC as it known for short.

I want to look at all the little details of flying the 737NG and discuss them in small pieces to make my flights more realistic

For those of you that don’t know what I am talking about take a look at the pictures

Building a Boeing 737 Home Cockpit

Please note that this is an enthusiast blog and not for real world training.

If you have ever fantasised about becoming an airline pilot, your dreams may have never been closer to becoming true.

Flight simulation has taken on a constantly evolving reality! With computer programs fine tuning, and in many cases paralleling real aircraft systems and performance. This coupled with the ability to build an accurate replication of a real cockpit in you home, allows your dream to come into fruition.

Not all of us of course will be able to build a full Boeing 737 cockpit in our homes. Time, cost, money and space are necessary commodities that most of us do not have, But still you can immerse yourself into your fantasy airline pilots role right through your monitor.

My program of choice is the PMDG NGX for flight simulator X. This simulator addon has surpassed all my expectations for a Boeing 737 flight simulation and I will go into detail with this throughout this blog. (There simply is so much to go through).

Take a look at this!

To get the most out of your flight simulation experience knowing you aircraft and doing things like a real airline pilot will make your flight simulation time very rewarding. I have flown real aircraft before having held a private pilots license and I can tell you now that that flight simulation is almost there with its accuracy and therefore gives for a very real experience indeed.
